Hob-Nob Drive-In in Gate City

Great place to eat and met some great guys that rode in on motorcycles. Older guys just having fun, but I think it too cold to be out riding. They had rode down from Lebanon.

Milkshakes were great and service was awesome for curbside. We didn't have to get out of our car at this little country eatery. They will either come to your car to take your order or you can call from the parking lot. Very good service in the midst of a pandemic.

Very Good Food several occasions! BUT.....be extremely cautious exiting their lot! Most drivers drive WAY TOO FAST on that state road! Most definitely NOT best or most considerate drivers at that! If they were then being hit wouldn't have occurred! If, God forbid, your vehicle does get hit don't count on State Police! WISEST MOVE? DO NOT GO TO THIS AWKWARDLY LOCATED, poorly developed delightfully satisfying eatery without 1st being ARMED WITH YOUR LAWYER ON THE PHONE AND YOUR CAMERA IN ACTION ! Total Truth!

We are on our way for another great cheeseburger- one of many over the years.

They make THE BEST cheeseburger!! The ice cream cones are wonderful too!!

The dinner that I had was a hamburger and fries and it was excellent place to go eat

Always love going here and to have been able to go more than once this year has been great, I always get the Super Bacon Cheeseburger with curly fries and coke and I have never been disappointed.

The BlackBerry cobbler with their luscious custard ice cream was sinful..would definitely cruise back just for that.

This drive in is probably the best I've ever been to. The food there is amazing and the people are so nice!

I loved there emu burger and there banana split but kinda small on the down side

This is like taking a step back in time. Great food, better prices and a staff that makes your experience here always a good one. My family and I have been visiting here for years and have never regretted it. Always good.

I went on a Sunday and it was packed. The food was good, large portions. Very good slaw. Good ice cream. There is a reason this place has been in business for so many years. You won't be disappointed. It's a great place!

Best old fashion Burger in the area. It's a bit out of town but well worth the drive. Great prices and an always friendly staff that will always make you feel right at home.

Great small restaurant for a road trip stop, the food is really good! No wait in line for a seat! There is a great view of the mountain next you as well!

This place is great! Don't get to come very often but I remember coming here as a kid. The food is so good! They the hot Carmel cake!

I have not been in 30 yrs. Didn't know how to get there my brother-in-law always tool us. The hamburgers were the largest I'd ever seen and delicious with fries or onion rings. Hope they are still as good probably are or wouldn't be around this long. With maps on phones now ill be making a trip and take some pics. For sure of course I always wanted to split my hamburger and fries so I could dive into banana split with nuts. To eat ALL BY MYSELF AND USUALLY DID. Look forward to visit soon I'm 70 now lets see what 30 plus years have to offer because I'm getting that big hamburger and fries for sure.. Thanks JENNIFER

Awesome place to eat good food at a great price

I have made the drive to Hob Knob from Kingsport, TN many times over the past years. Why? The food is awesome and of decent quantity. You do not leave hungry. Service is first class. It is prompt and what you order is what you get. It is amazing how much better a locally owned business is compared to the many national chains.The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the public rest rooms are way to small and in desperate need of enlargement and overhaul. I know this will be expensive due to many reasons.

Great food! Friendly waiters! My husband and I will probably have our 50th anniversary dinner there. Our first (chaperoned)date was when I was 14 and he was 16. We'll be ordering the same thing we ordered 54 years ago: Cheese burger, fries, and a cherry milkshake! There's where you go to have the world's best hamburger! Thank you, Hob Nob!

Always drop in when we visit. Their Burgers are delicious and the family loves the variety. Fries, tots and onion rings. Shakes, sundaes and cobbler.

One of the best kept secrets of Southwest Virginia. If you want some good old fashioned home cooked 50's style diner food than this is THE place to go. It stays packed 7 days a week for a reason. An added bonus, you'll see allot of old cars hanging out there too.

The service was exceptional, the burgers and fries were delicious, and the monster ice cream cone to top it off was brilliant. A great diner for any passerbys. Would definately recommend.

Tiny little place with awesome food. It's a diner-type joint and the food was seriously amazing. The staff were all pleasant. There was a small wait when we got there and ended up sitting with another couple, which was fun.

Hamburger was good. Fries ok. Greatly disappointed in dessert. Went for banana split made with ice cream. They only use soft serve. Did not order. Would not make special trip just for hamburger.

Loved the atmosphere! Burgers were fresh and desserts were huge!
